Rosemary has a time-honored tradition of medicinal and therapeutic use. In addition to being a celebrated savory seasoning, studies confirm that Rosemary is rich in antioxidants and strengthens the whole body.

A 2007 study showed that Rosemary essential oil actually decreased the levels of the stress hormone cortisol.  Excess cortisol can cause oxidative stress, weight gain, high blood pressure, cholesterol and heart disease.

Rosemary essential oil has long been known to improve memory as well as improving the speed and accuracy when performing mental tasks.  It is also one of the most effective ways to improve circulation, alleviate muscle cramps, arthritis pain and headaches.  

Simply apply a few drops of Rosemary essential oil mixed with your favourite massage carrier oil to aching muscles and joints and feel the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects kick in.

Thanks to its antibacterial properties, Rosemary essential oil also gives your immune system a boost and helps prevents colds and flu.

The harvest season is the perfect time to introduce Rosemary essential oil into your therapeutic treatments.  Try blending Rosemary with Peppermint or Lemongrass essential oils for an uplifting massage.  To relax and de-stress blend with Lavender, and for an overall panacea blend Rosemary with Eucalyptus essential oil.
